CASE STUDY

Problem:
A global materials company needed a way to support sales reps in the field by providing them with the most up-to-date procured sales, marketing, and technical assets. Proper permissions were needed to ensure that only sales reps with contracts for particular product lines could see documents for those product lines and those product lines only.
Solution:
Since all business rules were already defined in the customer’s Salesforce.com instance, Engine Room built a custom portal on SFDC using Apex code and accessing data through Lightning. We also integrated Salesforce Cases, Communities, and Chatter for further collaboration and communication between reps in the field and corporate employees. This portal was then repurposed for similar use by a different business unit.
